When we first launched Haynawoodwork, our main focus was on refurbishing and restoring furniture. This is still a huge part of what we do, and we continue to take pride in bringing old pieces back to life. However, as spring approached, we decided to try something new: creating custom planters for our own garden. We shared these planters on our social media, and what happened after that was truly surprising.
The response was overwhelming—orders for custom-sized planters started rolling in, and before we knew it, we had a whole new venture on our hands! It’s amazing to see how something as simple as sharing our personal creations could spark so much interest and turn into a thriving part of our business.
One of the biggest lessons we've learned from this experience is the importance of planning and scheduling. While we’re thrilled by the demand, we also want to ensure that every project, big or small, is delivered to the highest possible standard. This means we’ve had to make some tough decisions to maintain quality over quantity. We may need to say "No" to some orders to keep our schedule tight and make sure that every piece we produce is something we’re proud of.
It's easy to get caught up in the excitement and rush to take on every opportunity, but we’ve learned that being mindful of our capacity and planning ahead is key to delivering the best results.
