🌟 Why start our own business instead of working for a company? 🌟
After more than 30 years of working, it often comes down to one thought: “I know better, I can do better.” But finding the right product—something you truly believe in 100%—is no small feat.
Woodworking has been a passion of mine for years, and when people started suggesting I sell my creations, it planted a seed. Confidence, however, is tricky. Will people really like what you make?
Eventually, we decided to take the leap. We began small, showcasing our handmade wooden items at craft markets. A few months ago, we also launched online.
And then, something magical happened: our first custom order. What a feeling! Then came the second, and many more since.
But at the heart of it all is a principle we hold dear: recycling and upcycling.
One project in particular stands out. A family had a dining set that had been in their parents’ home for years. When their parents passed, none of the children wanted the dining set, but they didn’t want to lose the memories attached to it. We came up with a solution: cutting the dining set into pieces and transforming it into a custom coffee table. To make it even more special, we engraved their mum’s favorite poem into the wood. Now, every child has a piece of that cherished memory.
This project sparked something in us—a new direction, a deeper purpose.
We’ll continue attending markets, meeting customers, and hearing the stories behind their treasured items. Because sometimes, the things we think are “old” still hold immense value.
Moral of the story: Don’t throw everything away. If an item carries a memory, give it a new life. Especially older items—they were built to last.
